Your itinerary

You'll fly to Tbilisi today, arriving on day 2.

Today you'll arrive in Tbilisi and we will transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, we'll drive to the ancient capital of Mtskheta. Along the way we'll stop to admire the breathtaking views from the hilltop Jvari Monastery, before heading to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – the reputed burial site of Christ's robe. Once in the riverside city of Mtskheta you'll have free time to explore the narrow streets and ancient stone architecture.
Later, we'll stop in Saguramo for lunch paired with local wines before winding up the day with a stroll amid the open-air markets of Tbilisi.

Prepare to be dazzled by the majestic Kakheti region, Georgia's premier wine-producing area. We'll visit the hilltop Bodbe Monastery before making our way to Sighnaghi, the picturesque historic town which marks the gateway to the Great Caucasus Range.
A short drive will take us to Vardisubani village, where we'll meet local craftsmen who specialise in making traditional qveri – egg-shaped earthenware vessels used throughout Georgia for fermenting wine.
We'll finish this perfect day by sampling some of the excellent Georgian wines at Shumi Winery in Tsinandali.
Back in Tbilisi, you'll enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

We'll set off to explore Georgia's enchanting ancient capital, whose buildings are tucked into the twisting valley of the Mtkvari River. We'll take a leisurely stroll to soak up the beauty of the Old Town, where the skyline is dominated by Narikala Fortress. We'll even delve underground to the 17th century sulphur baths, where a hidden waterfall awaits. A walk across the Bridge of Peace, with a stop for panoramic photos, ends a wonderful walking tour.
In the evening, we'll gather in a traditional Georgian restaurant for dinner.

Today is Christmas Day, and we'll be spending it in an incredibly memorable way. A day of outstanding mountain scenery awaits as we venture through the High Caucasus Mountains along the Georgian Military Highway to the Kazbegi region. Grand fortresses guard towering mountain passes here, and we'll follow along the path of the thundering Tergi River into Kazbegi town. Ancient churches stand with a backdrop of snowy mountain peaks, and in every direction are panoramic views of the Caucasus, including the gargantuan Mount Kazbegi.

Today we enter Armenia and, after completing our border formalities together, we'll dive straight into the history and culture of this fascinating country with a tour of the monastic complex of Haghpat. Travel back over 1,000 years at this ancient UNESCO World Heritage Site, nestled in the midst of glorious Armenian countryside.
As we continue our drive through the beautiful Aragatsotn region we'll make a stop at the Armenian Alphabet Park to appreciate the 1,600-year-old language. Be prepared for some fun photo opportunities among the huge stone monuments!
Tonight, we'll stay in the capital city of Yerevan.

Today we'll be getting to grips with bustling, vibrant Yerevan, where ancient culture and cosmopolitan city life come together. The grand Christmas tree in the famous Republic Square is the perfect place to begin our tour. We'll spend the day discovering the deep-rooted traditions and modern culture of the city, from the open-air Cascade Complex art museum to the Mother Armenia monument, which watches over the city from a lofty park.
There will be free time to stroll around the delightful Yerevan Christmas market and browse for souvenirs.

This morning we'll visit the magnificent Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and pristine example of medieval Armenian architecture expertly carved out of rocks. Next, it's on to the grand Temple of Garni, an almost 2,000-year-old monument to the ancient sun god, and the only standing Greco-Roman colonnaded building in Armenia.
In the afternoon we'll return to Yerevan to join the locals in the vibrant Fruit Market as they buy fruit, vegetables and traditional sweets. Afterwards, we'll head to a local restaurant for a delicious dinner accompanied by live folk music.

Be prepared for breathtaking scenery and majestic landscapes as we spend the day at Lake Sevan – the emerald of Armenia. We'll explore the largest alpine lake in the Caucasus – and second largest in the world – stopping to take in staggering views along the way.
We'll spend some time in Dilijan, Armenia's Little Switzerland, a picturesque and artistic resort town set in the forested hills above the lake. There will be time to meet Armenian artists, composers, and filmmakers, and to appreciate the traditional architecture.
Finally, we'll bird farewell to Armenia as we cross the Sadakhlo border back into Georgia.

Spend a free day in Tbilisi getting swept up in the festive atmosphere of the capital. Wander through the Christmas markets, ferret through Soviet-era curios in the flea markets, and when you need warming up, head into a traditional restaurant and learn the etiquette of eating the famous Georgian khinkali dumplings.

Spend some time at leisure today, getting to know Tbilisi more intimately. Set off independently or with your travelling companions to get lost amid the cobbled streets. Make sure you look up lots so you don't miss the beauty of the traditional colourful balconies.
You might choose to visit to a traditional sulphur bathhouse in the ancient district of Abanotubani. What better way to feel renewed than with an exfoliating scrub and foam massage in ancient mosaicked rooms?

New Year's Eve is a time to let your hair down and tonight we'll be doing that in the Georgian style! With a meal, traditional dances, local wines and New Year surprises, it will be a night to remember.

Enjoy a slow start to the day after the festivities of the night before. Today our trip comes to an end and we'll transfer you to Tbilisi International Airport for your flight home.
