Nervous travelling alone? We understand! While the feeling of independence is wonderful when you take a trip by yourself, it can be a little tense, especially if you’ve never done it before. But don’t worry – you’re not alone. We’ve put together a selection of the most commonly asked questions among our Community; if it’s your first time travelling with Just You, check them out for complete peace of mind.

Who travels with Just You?

Honestly, anyone and everyone! All the people in your group will be travelling by themselves and will share your sense of adventure and passion for travel. There’s usually a good mix of ages too (although we do not accept bookings from under 18's) so you’ll meet a variety of solo travellers who have more, or in some cases less, life experience. We find the overall mix of people really adds to the whole experience and there are certainly plenty of laughs along the way.

Am I guaranteed a room of my own?

Of course, you’ll always have a twin or double room all to yourself. It’s great to have that space to relax and reflect at the end of the day.

In some hotels you can also pay a little extra to upgrade for more space or a lovely sea view.

Will I eat alone?

This is the most frequently asked question of our friendly customers. Well, as it’s your first time travelling alone, let’s put your mind at ease – there’s always a social element to dining so you’ll never eat alone, unless you want to! Every holiday includes a welcome get-together and at other times, when a meal is included, your Holiday Director will arrange for the group to be sat together. When there’s an opportunity to eat in local cafés or restaurants, we usually find that a few people decide to head off together. Breakfast is always included, and our groups usually enjoy sitting together and chatting about what they are looking forward to that day. In the evening, there’s nothing better than talking about those fantastic experiences over a drink and dinner.

Will I have time for myself?

As is the case with all our holidays, the idea is to enjoy the experience in your own way; if that means taking some time for yourself, no problem. Of course, you’ll be with your fellow travellers for any included excursions, but there’s plenty of free time too. You can choose to participate in some of our optional excursions, head off on your own or arrange to meet up with a few of your fellow travellers to go exploring or relax with a drink at the bar, it’s entirely up to you.

Social occasions, such as our welcome drinks and farewell get-togethers, are great for spending quality time with your fellow solo travellers, but it's by no means compulsory to attend; there’s no pressure to join in anything if you’d much rather be by yourself.


How many people will be in my solo travel group?

Our holiday group sizes do vary from tour to tour - but we have an average group size of 27.

Big or small, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to socialise with your fellow travellers. So, whether you fancy making friends at mealtimes or feel like being friendly by the pool, you’re guaranteed a great time whatever size your group is. Of course, if group size is an important deciding factor for your trip, you can always talk to one of our friendly, helpful team for advice and guidance on the tours likely to suit you best.

What’s the typical man-to-woman ratio?

Generally, more women than men embark on holidays with Just You. It usually works out that about three-quarters of any individual solo travel group is female, but recently we’ve seen more and more men joining our tours.

What’s the typical Just You holidays age range?

Typically, our customers are solo travellers in their 40s, 50s and 60s, but it’s quite possible you could meet 20-year-olds or 70-year-olds (or anyone in between). Regardless of your age, if you’ve got a lust for adventure, our holidays are bound to be a blast! However, please note - we changed our policy recently and from 28th March 22, will not accept new bookings for children under 18 years for any of our holidays.

Where should I go for my first solo trip?

Have you ever heard the expression ‘the world is your oyster’? Well, that’s the case with Just You; whatever your tastes, we offer destinations where you can do almost anything. Always wanted to take a trip away during the festive period? Indulge in an exciting city break? How about exploring faraway places you’ve only ever read about? Yes, you can do these things – and so much more – on a guided holiday with Just You.

Can I make my own flight arrangements?

If you would like to make your own flight arrangements, you can choose our "Make Your Own Way" option. You will be responsible for making your own way to the first hotel on a Tour and your Tour will end at the final hotel in accordance with the timings set out in the itinerary.

General Holiday FAQs

How do I find out Entry and Health Requirements for my holiday?

We have partnered with Sherpa, an on-line self service tool that allows you to search up-to-date information regarding travel entry requirements for all countries and also allows you to apply for eVisas or eTAs via their on-line portal. You can also refer to the Foreign Travel Advice section on the website: Foreign travel advice - GOV.UK ( Click on your destination and then click on 'Entry Requirements'.

It is important to remember that passport, visa and health requirements can change before departure; therefore, we recommend you regularly familiarise yourself with the latest requirements before you travel. If you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport/entry/immigration requirements, we are unable to accept any responsibility.

For some destinations, it is not always discernable that a visa is required for entry at the border.  For example, for some customers, to travel to the United States, an ESTA may be required. For Canada, an ETA and to India, an e-visa may be needed. Please do check your requirements to avoid any unnecessary cost and delays.

Do I have to travel to a London Airport

Not unless it’s your nearest, most convenient option. While many of of flights travel out of London, we also offer plenty of other options to make your journey as convenient as possible. We may be able to fly direct from your local airport to your final destination. Simply take a look at the 'Dates and Prices' section of a tour for the details of available airports for your chosen holiday. If your preferred airport is not listed, a connecting flight may be available, just call us and we'll find how we can get you there is a way that makes it as easy as possible for you.

Is Just You a member of ABTA and is it ATOL-bonded?

We think you'll be glad to hear this: If your holiday includes a flight departing from (or returning to) a UK airport, your holiday will be operated by G Touring Limited (company number 04956006) Office 202 Harborough Enterprise Centre, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 9HW. These holidays are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL number 11266). G Touring Limited is also a member of ABTA (the Association of British Travel Agents Limited). For any holiday which does not include a flight, we provide financial security for holiday arrangements booked through us by way of a financial failure insurance policy.

Can you help me arrange my travel visa?

We have partnered with Sherpa, an on-line self service tool that allows customers to see up-to-date information regarding travel entry requirements for all countries and also allows you to apply for eVisas or eTAs via the on-line portal. The tool is easy to use and can be found here

Using the Sherpa travel guide, you can access the latest information on entry requirements, travel restrictions, quarantine policies, visa and e-visa conditions and various health declaration forms to destinations all around the world, in one convenient virtual location.

Are there guidelines for tipping when you are on trip?

It’s worth familiarising yourself with local expectations of the destination you are visiting prior to your holiday.   In most countries tipping is now customary and expected in restaurants, bars and taxis in the region of 10%-15% of the bill.  Always check any bill as tips may automatically included. Tips are not included for your Holiday Director, Coach Driver, Specialist Local Guides or Hotel Room Service and is completely optional.  If you think they have delivered excellent service throughout your trip you may wish to recognise that with a tip, this is completely at your discretion.


When will I receive my Final Holiday Information?

You’ll receive your Final holiday documents approximately 14 days prior to your departure with all you need to know before you travel.

Airlines now operate ticketless systems and airline tickets are no longer issued. If you can check in online, details on how to do so will be included in your Final Holiday Information, alternatively you will be able to check in upon arrival at the airport.

Please review these documents carefully as these will contain all the information needed about your flights (if included), your hotels and a full itinerary. We may also include FAQ’s that are specific to your holiday, please take care to read these to help you prepare for a holiday of a lifetime!

My Account FAQs

How do I create an account?

All you need to do to create an account is enter your email address and choose a password (at least 6 characters with an upper case letter and a number) and you're done! From there, you can access your upcoming holiday details

My new booking reference is not showing in my account. Can you help?

If your booking isn’t showing on the dashboard when you log in to My Account, you can add this by clicking ‘Add Holiday by Reference’. You’ll need to enter the booking reference number, the date your holiday departs and your postcode before clicking the ‘retrieve’ button. This may take a few moments to update.

I need to change my email address on my booking. How can I do this?

At the moment, there is no option to change your email address on your Manage My Booking account. You will need to register a new account with your updated email address. Once this has been completed, please email and advise us which booking references you would like moving to your new account.

I can’t log in – how do I reset my password?

If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking on the ‘My Account’ button and selecting ‘Reset Password’. Once you have entered your email address (this must match the email address that the account has been set up in) you will be sent an email. Please check your ‘junk’ folder if it does not appear in your email inbox. This will contain a link to reset your password. Please note that this link is only valid for 60 minutes. Your new password will need to meet the following criteria;

  • A minimum of six characters
  • At least one uppercase letter
  • At least one number

When you next log on, please ensure you type your password exactly as it has been set, as this is case sensitive.

How do I update my personal information such as my contact details?

You can edit your details - mobile phone number, home phone number, address, marketing communication preferences and account password in the My Account Section of the website. However, you are unable to amend/add anything within 7-8 weeks of departure. If you need to make a change in this time period - please email us on with the details they wish to add or amend and we will update this for You.

The final balance is due for my upcoming holiday, what do I need to do?

For most tours, your balance is due 12 weeks before departure. When your balance is due you can easily make your payment by logging into Your Account.
