My Just You Story: Sheona

After Sheona's first Just You adventure in Tuscany, we couldn't wait to hear how Croatia compared…

I book my holidays through Murray Travel in Inverness - I love a proper face-to-face chat before I commit to anything. And this trip? Worth every conversation.

I knew so little about Croatia, but the Deluxe Dubrovnik tour blew me away and ‘stunning’ doesn't quite cover it.

Cavtat was the perfect base, and the five-star Hotel Croatia Cavtat delivered in every way – spacious, luxurious, a balcony overlooking the sea, and staff who couldn't do enough for us. Our Holiday Director Sandra was a wealth of knowledge and warmth, and driver Jakob got us everywhere with real care.

Montenegro was my absolute highlight. Ston's fortress walls were fascinating, if a knee-testing climb. And the family-run winery lunch was pure magic – intimate, honest, full of stories about the harvest and the challenges that come with it.

As well as the stunning scenery it was an added bonus to meet fellow travellers and share the new experiences together. There were 25 people in our group from all walks of life which provided hugely entertaining and frequently comical life stories and topics which were shared over dinner and a few wines.  A great way to meet new friends!

The Elafiti Islands Cruise was a joy, especially discovering Sipan's small wine-and-olive-oil producer, welcoming us into her home to dine on delicious wine and cheeses like old friends.

Dubrovnik itself was fleeting but unforgettable, and I am so pleased I decided to save my last two days for Cavtat to wander the promenade, linger over lunch, and lose myself in local painter, Vlaho Bukovac's gallery.

I can only finish by saying, what a fantastic holiday - stunning countryside, a rich history and lovely people, I will definitely be planning a return trip to explore more!
