Day 1 Chester
Make your own way to Chester and check into your hotel, which is located within the historic walls of the city. An included Afternoon Tea is an indulgent treat and a great way to get to know your fellow travellers as you begin your festive break.
You'll get together again this evening for dinner in the hotel's restaurant.
Day 2 Christmas Eve, Chester
We'll get out and about today on a walking tour of Chester in the company of a Local Guide. Founded by the Romans more than 2,000 years ago, its fascinating history is reflected in its well-preserved city walls, which are the oldest, longest and most complete in England. We'll also see the city's impressive Roman amphitheatre and admire many medieval half-timbered houses. Our stroll concludes at Chester Cathedral, which stands on the site of a 7th century Saxon church.
Back at the hotel we'll gather for dinner.
Day 3 Christmas Day, Chester
It's Christmas Day, so enjoy a leisurely morning. The highlight of the day is sure to be our traditional festive lunch with all the trimmings. You can spend the rest of the day as you wish before we get together once more for dinner this evening.
Day 4 Boxing Day, Llandudno & Conwy
This morning, we're leaving England and driving to North Wales for a day out in Llandudno. This lovely Victorian coastal town is known for its 19th century pier and North Shore Beach. The beach is exactly where we'll be heading first, where the more hardy of you will relish joining the famous 'Boxing Day Dip'. Many people take part in this annual event, which whatever the weather, is sure to be chilly as you enter the water, but think of those festive calories you'll burn off! If you really want to get into the spirit, remember to bring your fancy dress costume with you, and if you want to keep warm and dry, watching from the sidelines might be the more sensible option.
After the fun you can discover the town at your own pace - have a stroll around the shopping streets or take in the splendid views of Great Orme, an impressive headland which juts out into the sea. We'll then meet up to enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea at the Quay Hotel & Spa. Take in views of the Conwy Estuary as you tuck into sandwiches and cakes, and as a special treat, a glass of Champagne or a cocktail is also included.
Next, we'll make our way to Conwy Castle, where we'll take a guided stroll around the outside of this medieval fortress to see its impressive gateways and eight massive towers.
Back at the hotel, enjoy a final dinner with your travelling companions.
