Monet’s Garden is one highlight not to be missed. The place for the inspiration of many of his paintings from 1883 until his death in 1926, gaining inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounded him. The French love socialising particularly when it includes food and wine! They also love eating out, so you won't be short on cafes, bars, bistros, and restaurants to try.

There are of course, some region specific dishes like the famous frogs legs and snails, but in the main their food is not too dissimilar to that you would find at home.

Things such as crepes (pancakes), Boeuf Bourguingnon (beef stew), Coq au vin (chicken in a wine based sauce) and quiche Lorraine (bacon quiche) but what they are renowned for is their cheeses, breads and breakfast pastries.

Also a treat not to be missed is their sweet delicacies such as candied fruit, macarons and crystallised flowers!

France enjoys mild to warm temperatures throughout the year, although there are regional differences, with a warmer, more Mediterranean climate in the South and a cooler, sometimes wetter climate in the North.

Most travellers enjoy visiting France in spring and summer to benefit from the slightly warmer temperatures but equally autumn in France is lovely with it's vibrant autumn colours and temperatures reaching 16-20°C, which makes it an ideal time to enjoy tours around the mountains, cities and countryside.

August, is the month to avoid as most of the country closes down for the locals to enjoy the sunshine themselves. Winter is one of the best times to explore Paris, as the crowds are fewer, yet the restaurants are still lively with locals.
