Day 1 VeronaToday you'll arrive in Italy and transfer to your hotel on the shores of Lake Garda. You'll have time to explore your surroundings before joining your travel companions for a drink. Meals included: D
Day 2 Christmas Eve, Sirmione & wine-tasting
On Christmas Eve morning we will explore the area around Lake Garda with its pretty villages, olive groves and vineyards. We'll stop in Sirmione, a village boasting several important sights, including a Roman villa that is almost two thousand years old. We will also make time for photographs at the stunning Scaligero Castle, which rises dramatically out of the turquoise waters of the lake. Before we return to the hotel, we'll try some Trentino wines at a local farm.
Day 3 Christmas Day, Lake Garda, at Leisure
Christmas Day is free for you to spend as you wish, as long as you don't forget to join us for our traditional Christmas lunch! Stroll along the lakeside, attend a Mass or, if you're feeling energetic, hire a bike from the hotel and use some of the many excellent cycle paths to explore further afield.
Day 4 Boxing Day, Verona
We will spend Boxing Day in Verona. This gorgeous city becomes even more enchanting at Christmas with decorated trees, sparkling lights and a giant shooting star installation outside the Verona Arena. We will take a look inside the marble arena which is the second-largest in Italy and once held 30,000 spectators. Stroll across the Piazza Bra, a huge square lined with pavement cafés and restaurants, and shop for Pandoro (Veronese Christmas cake) in the Christmas market. We will also spend some time at the Nativity Scenes Exhibition, which is held every year and contains 400 nativity scenes from around the globe.Meals included: B,D
Day 5 Trento Christmas markets
After breakfast, we travel north to the Alpine town of Trento. Surrounded by mountains and filled with baroque architecture, Trento is a true Italian gem. Explore the piazzas where the Christmas market will be set out selling handmade decorations and sweets. Warm up with a glass of Vin Brulé, Italy's version of spiced mulled wine. Next, we will travel to another beautiful mountain town, Rovereto. This town is known for its grappa production and we'll have a chance to taste the delicious, cognac-like spirit on a tour of the distillery.
Day 6 Verona - UK
Today you will be transferred to Verona airport for your flight back to the UK. Meals included: B
