Win a £500 Just You Holiday Voucher

Calling all photographers - our Photography Competition is back! Get your cameras and phones at the ready on your next Just You tour, or dig out those wonderful photos from a previous Just You holiday, and you could be crowned Photographer of the Year 2023.

Over the next six months our competition will have a different theme each month, so there’s something for everyone to get their teeth into. We’ll choose a winner every month, and they’ll receive a £50 Just You holiday voucher. Those winners will then go forward to the final, and one will be named Just You Photographer of the Year 2023.

With that title also comes a £500 Just You holiday voucher. So, take a look at the categories, see which suits your next trip and get snapping!

To enter simply email your photos to photo@justyou.co.uk before the 15th of the following month, including the theme you are entering in the subject of your email. Once you have sent us your photos why not share them on our Facebook page, Instagram or on Twitter using #JustYouHolidays

The monthly themes are listed below and the only rule is that your photo must have been taken while on a Just You holiday:

  • JUNE 2023: NATURE | COMPETITION CLOSED. WINNER: SHARON BRADFORD

As we travel the world, the vibrant and evocative landscapes which often contrast quite dramatically from the nature and great outdoors we’re fortunate to have back home, make for a fascinating tour. Whether it’s witnessing orangutans doing their thing in Borneo, the wow moment of getting to observe the iconic species endemic to the Galapagos Islands, or the other-worldly deserts around Jordan as part of a 4x4 dune safari, what’s your best capture of nature at its best?

  • JULY 2023: PEOPLE/CULTURE | COMPETITION CLOSED. WINNER: MIKE WOFFINDEN

Travel allows us to connect with the people and world around us, so this month share your favourite snaps which convey the inspiring people or cultures you’ve encountered on a Just You tour. It could be the time you spend with an indigenous Bribri community in Costa Rica, encounters with people at the heart of our Just You Cares projects with Planeterra, or perhaps a group activity on tour which helped you connect with your fellow travellers.

  • AUGUST 2023: FOOD MOMENTS | COMPETITION CLOSED. WINNER: CAROL JONES

They say that a new destination is best explored through its cuisine, so make the most of your Local Flavours experiences on tour and capture your favourite foodie moment. It could be dining with one of India’s most notable families as part of the Spirit of India tour while wearing traditional Indian dress, farmhouse dining in Tuscany or learning how to make Limoncello in Sorrento… send us your favourite foodie finds.

  • SEPTEMBER 2023: WALKING/PATHWAYS | COMPETITION CLOSED. WINNER: ANNE MORTLOCK

As you know, we offer a number of walking holidays as well as walking tours of key towns and cities as part of our Just You tours. But, on every single solo tour, we think every path you take leads to a new adventure. So send us your favourite shots, it could be a path that leads somewhere unexpected – a stunning vista you weren’t expecting, a surprising journey you enjoyed as part of your free time at leisure, or a memorable walking holiday around the beautiful island of Crete with Just You.

  • OCTOBER 2023: NIGHTSCAPES | COMPETITION CLOSED. WINNER: SHARON BRADFORD

There’s something quite enchanting about dusk and the show of twinkling lights that emerge right after, and we want to see your best night-time scenes. It could be a spectacular scenes captured from a night-time entertainment show, the dazzling lights of Las Vegas on one of or an evening nature walk in Jasper National Park as part of our USA tours… the options are endless!

  • NOVEMBER 2023: FAVOURITE PHOTO FROM A JUST YOU TOUR | COMPETITION CLOSED. WINNER: KATHRYN BARBER

  • DECEMBER 2023: CELEBRATION | COMPETITION CLOSED. WINNER: SHARON BRADFORD

As a month popular for festivities, we want to see your favourite captures of a celebration. It could be one of your fellow travellers celebrating a birthday, a religious festival talking place while you’re away, or a group celebration for a wonderful escorted tour with Just You!

  • GRAND FINAL: COMPETITION CLOSED. WINNER: ANNE MORTLOCK

As a month popular for festivities, we want to see your favourite captures of a celebration. It could be one of your fellow travellers celebrating a birthday, a religious festival talking place while you’re away, or a group celebration for a wonderful escorted tour with Just You!

All winning entries will be shortlisted for the Photographer of the Year competition, and the judge will select the overall winner. Winner will be announced on 15th January 2024.

Our Just You Photographer of the Year will win a £500 Just You Holiday Voucher. Each monthly winner will receive a £50 Just You holiday voucher.

    Winner: Sharon Bradford

    Sharon's Monument Valley image was selected for June's competition, showing the natural and unique arid landscape of the region. Monument Valley is featured as part of the US Tour, National Parks, Mount Rushmore & Little Big Horn.

  2. People/Culture

    Winner: Mike Woffinden

    Mike's entry for July, 'a young girl on a train' was taken on a previous Just You Myanmar tour. "As she waited for the train, she became interested in watching the bustle on the platform".

  3. JY Photo Comp Winner Food

    Food

    Winner: Carol Jones

    This month's food theme was a tricky one to judge, but Carol's picture really captures the Spirit of India with Amritsar add on: "This is the highlight of all my many travels around the world and shows volunteers making chapatis for the 100,000 people they feed every day for free! What an experience!"

  4. Walking

    Winner & Grand Final Winner: Anne Mortlock

    Anne's image was crowned the best submission for September, showcasing the epic climb about to take place, with the group ascending the Big Daddy Dune as part of the Namibia: Tribes and Natural Wonders tour. Congratulations to Anne who also takes home the Grand Prize of a £500 Just You holiday voucher.

  5. Nightscapes

    Winner: Sharon Bradford

    Sharon took this photo of the Royal Palace on the first evening of the Thailand Land of Smiles tour: "After a long overnight flight and an afternoon at leisure it was such fun to go out in the evening for a fabulous meal and Tuk Tuk ride taking in the sights at night."

  6. Favourite Photo

    Winner: Kathryn Barber

    "Well Sri Lanka is the place to go with Just You for the most beautiful flowers, each day the coach driver gave us a different flower and I would wear one in my sun hat each day." Congratulations to Kathryn, we love the vibrancy and details of her favourite photo.

  7. Celebration

    Winner: Sharon Bradford

    "I took this photo in India in March 2020. We were fortunate enough to be there during Holi. The global pandemic was declared the day after this was taken. I remain friends with the three ladies in the foreground as a number of us developed close friendships as a result of coming back to lockdown. It was certainly a holiday to remember."

Terms & Conditions

  1. This competition is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland aged 18 years or over, except for employees of G Touring Ltd, their families, suppliers or anyone else associated with this competition.
  2. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  3. To enter just email your photos to photo@justyou.co.uk before the deadline specified along with your name, the competition theme you are entering, the Just You holiday that you were on and a few sentences about what inspired you to take the photo. Image files must be 300 dpi and between 1MB and 3MB. We’re unable to accept files any bigger than 3MB.
  4. All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.
  5. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
  6. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to G Touring Ltd to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to the Just You brand.
  7. By submitting your entry, all entrants are granting permission, should they win the monthly photo competition, for their winning entry to be submitted forward into the main Photographer of the Year Competition.
  8. There is no limit to the number of entries you submit into the monthly prize draw.
  9. The winners may be required to take part in publicity.
  10. There are six monthly prizes consisting of one x £50 Just You Holiday voucher as part of our monthly photo competition, and one overall prize of a £500 Just You Holiday voucher.
  11. Vouchers can be redeemed against selected holidays advertised on the Just You Website. Tour  exclusions apply. Prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
  12.  All six winning monthly entries will be entered into the main Just You Photographer of the Year Competition to win a £500 voucher. Winner will be selected based on the judge’s decision of the best photograph.
  13.  All winners will be notified via email with details of how to redeem their voucher. Monthly winners will be notified by the 30th of the following month of their prize win i.e. Entrants for the July competition will be notified by 31st August. The Photographer of the Year 2023 will be notified by 30th January 2024.
  14.  Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of G Touring Ltd and accordingly G Touring Ltd may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to G Touring Ltd as a result thereof.
