Fly to Verona today. Your base for the week is Arco, located to the north of Lake Garda with the Dolomites as a dramatic backdrop. Meet your fellow travellers over a drink this evening.
Day 2 Bolzano & the Dolomites
Walk 5km/3mi - 1.5hrs
The capital of the Sud Tyrol is framed by lush hillsides, rolling vineyards and the dramatic Dolomites Mountain Range, and it's where we head today. The Renon Plateau lies between the Isarco and Talvera Rivers high above Bolzano, and a cable-car ride will take us to an altitude of 1,000 metres above sea level. Here, our guide will lead us on a walk through unspoiled scenery.
Day 3 Arco - at Leisure
Take the chance to explore Lake Garda at your own pace or join our optional excursion to Verona, where a Local Guide will highlight sights such as the Roman Arena. Another must-see sight is Juliet's Balcony – Verona is famous as the setting for Shakespeare's tragic love story Romeo and Juliet. There's time to browse the shops in Via Mazzini, or simply sit at a pavement café.
Day 4 Lake Molveno
Walk 11km/6.8mi - 3.5hrs
Lake Molveno boasts crystal-clear waters which perfectly reflect the surrounding mountains and forests. Our Local Guide will lead us first to a Roman bridge near to the Rio Ceda waterfall. From here we'll embark on a short climb to the ruins of the Napoleonic Forts, built in 1805 by the Austrians in a bid to halt Napoleon's advance. We continue to the southern end of the lake where we'll stroll along the lakeside path.
Day 5 Arco - at Leisure
Walk 5km/3mi - 2hrs
Lake Garda is surrounded by mountains, the highest being Monte Baldo. On our optional excursion we head first to Malcesine where, in the company of a Local Guide, we'll board a cable car to Tratto Spino for a two-hour walk. Enjoy views over Lake Garda, Italy's largest and most famous lake, before pausing for lunch. Our return journey is by cable car and then from Malcesine we'll board a boat and cruise to Riva.
Day 6 Lake Ledro
Walk 11km/6.8mi - 3.5hrs
The beautiful towns around Lake Garda have been charming visitors for centuries, and Riva del Garda is no exception, a bustling town with a stunning backdrop of lake, valleys and hills. Our walk takes us from Riva to Lake Ledro and along one of the most panoramic roads in Europe, the Strada del Ponale. We'll walk a trail carved into rocks and through small tunnels. The bay at the entrance of the Valle di Ledro and Lake Garda nestled below us are breathtaking sights.
Day 7 Lake Garda
Cycle 15km/9.4 mi - 2 hrs
Today you'll discover Lake Garda by bicycle on a ride around its shores. We've already hired your bike for you, all you have to do is get in the saddle and follow your Tour Manager around the lake's northern tip between Arco, Torbole and Riva.
