Itinerary

Day 1 UK - Entebbe

Today, you fly to Entebbe.

Day 2 Entebbe

After arriving at Entebbe International Airport, you'll be greeted by your Local Guide and transferred to your hotel nearby. Take a little time to settle in and meet your fellow travellers over dinner before we start exploring the country tomorrow. Meals included: D

Day 3 Entebbe - Murchison Falls

After breakfast, you'll catch your first glimpse of Uganda's wonderful wildlife with a drive through Kampala to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. We will set off on a walking safari to spot rare southern white rhino, which have recently been re-introduced to the country.
In the afternoon, we'll travel on to Murchison Falls National Park, a region that's awash with dense rainforest and rolling savannah and has the Nile River flowing majestically through it. And, of course, the dramatic, cascading Murchison Falls at its heart.

Day 4 Murchison Falls

See more of the region's amazing animals on a morning game drive that takes you across savannah, through Borassus palm forest and down to Lake Albert, one of Africa's Great Lakes. Along the way, we'll spot all manner of spectacular species, from the Big Five to various native birds and reptiles.
Later in the day, you'll get to experience the National Park from the water as we take a boat ride up the Nile to Murchison Falls. View the impressive cascades from below, including watching huge Nile crocodiles basking in the pools.

Day 5 Chimpanzee Tracking in Budongo Forest National Park

Today you will experience Chimpanzee Trekking in Budongo Forest National Park. After arrival at the park and a short briefing, you will be led by an experienced Ranger Guide into the forest to find the Chimps as they awake from their Nests. There are 4950 chimpanzees within Uganda; It is also home of 8 species of primates, including the Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Olive Baboon, L’hoest Monkey, Vervet Monkey and the Blue Monkey.

Day 6 Clark Farm

After breakfast, you will drive to Clark Farm. An eco-friendly coffee estate and farm specializing in high quality washed Robusta coffee. Clarke Farm is a 1500 acre farm with rivers and forest trails, both in natural and man made forests. It is located in Katambale, Kyarusozi Kyenjojo district in Uganda. Approximately half the farm is planted in Robusta coffee. Other crops include Eucalyptus, Macadamia, Irish potatoes, Maize, Mangoes and Oranges. Stay at the farm and enjoy the serene environment.

Day 7 Clark Farm - Bwindi National Park

Today you will have a tour of the farm and then depart for Bwindi National Park, Of Uganda’s Forested Parks, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is best known for gorilla tracking, but it also provides refuge to elephants, chimpanzees, monkeys and various small antelopes, as well as 23 bird species restricted to the Albertine.

Day 8 Gorilla Tracking - Lake Bunyonyi

Rise early and prepare yourself for the highlight of your holiday – gorilla tracking. This memorable excursion is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on the planet, and the trekking can take up to six hours, to spot the majestic giants. You'll be led by an expert ranger who'll educate you on the gorillas and the forest's unique flora and fauna.
Afterwards, we'll drive to Lake Bunyonyi that's said to be the second deepest lake in Africa. It's also known as the 'place of little birds' due to its vast population of water birds. Take some time to soak up the sight of its magical misty islands and the surrounding verdant hills. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 9 Lake Bunyonyi - Mbarara

Enjoy a morning at leisure on Lake Bunyonyi. You can relax and make the most of your beautiful surroundings by taking to the lake on a canoe or dive in for a refreshing swim.
Thereafter we drive to Emburara Farm Lodge, a boutique property set on a cattle farm in Mbarara, Ankole, in Western Uganda. It overlooks undulating landscapes and lush greenery. The peaceful property is committed to wildlife conservation, as well as caring for its herd of treasured long-horned Ankole cattle. You'll arrive in time for an evening interactive farm experience and hear your hosts' story, with a large campfire, local dance and music. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 10 Mbarara - Lake Mburo National Park

Today you will take part in the morning milking process on the farm, and be taken to the crawl house to be shown how the milk is kept and preserved in traditional pots. You will hear all about the significance of these pots and household items to the Banyankole culture. After, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park where during our game drive as we enter the park you can watch impalas and zebras. The Lake Mburo National Park forms a mosaic-like habitat with rocks, dry slopes, open and wooded savannas, forests, and swamps increases. This diversity of habitats has the diversity of bird life with 313 bird species recorded in the park, including flame head Barbet, Long-tailed Zitting Cisticola (Tabora), African Bins Rail, Collared Barbet, binding Bush singer among others. Day 11 Lake Mburo National Park

You will get up early morning for a game drive and then return to the hotel for a hearty breakfast. In the afternoon you will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Mburo, where you can look out for a number of bird species and animals like the hippos and the zebras along the shores. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 12 Lake Mburo - Entebbe

After an early morning guided nature walk in the park, you'll start your journey back to Kampala crossing the equator along the way. You will have time to take photos buy a few souvenirs and have a quick picnic lunch before arriving in Entebbe for our overnight stay.

Day 13 Entebbe - UK

We will transfer you to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK today. Meals included: B

Day 14 UK

You'll arrive in the UK today.

Additional Information

Please note - our 2025 itinerary is expected to follow a different route and include alternative highlights. Please speak to a holiday advisor about those changes. Due to the gorilla permits for this tour needing immediate payment, once your booking is confirmed, your deposit is non-refundable. We also need copies of your passport as soon as possible to book the permits. This tour is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or who has concerns with their mobility. The treks to the gorillas can be difficult and take several hours, the trek can last 6 hours. Please note that under current FCO advice you will need a Yellow Fever Vaccination & Certificate in order to enter Uganda.

Engagi Lodge in Bwindi is a modern lodge in a breathtaking setting offering stunning views over the forest canopy. The lodge is situated in a large tract of land contiguous to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, and runs from the main road to the Park Headquarters down to the Munyaga river. The lodge has been built using local materials and a local workforce. It is constructed from rocks found in and around the site and eucalyptus trees while the rooms are thatched from banana fibre sourced from local farmers. The lodge is open ended at the front allowing a dramatic view of the Bwindi forest from every corner inside the building.

Relaxing and peaceful Mihingo Lodge is adjacent to the Lake Mburo National Park; renowned for being the only place in Uganda where one might view zebra and impala. Additionally, Lake Mburo has large numbers of waterbuck, buffalo, hippo, bushbuck, and if you are lucky you will see oribi, reedbuck, leopard and crocodiles. The landscape is charming and the lodge's tented accommodation blends with it well. The camp's hot water and electricity are all powered by solar energy, a pleasing eco twist to this well-appointed property. The camp is a charming stop-over accommodation before moving on to experience gorilla trekking.
