Itinerary

Day 1 UK - Barcelona

Today, you fly to Barcelona, transferring on arrival to the Catalan Pyrenees. The Pyrenees mountain range divides Spain and France and offers spectacular opportunities for exploration, as you will discover this week. Our first hotel is located in the Spanish mountain village of Camprodon. Spend the rest of the day relaxing, before we get to know one another better over a welcome drink and dinner this evening.

Day 2 Free Time

Enjoy the Pyrenees at their most authentic at this peaceful and quiet neoclassical family-run hotel, that has retained its historical charm. Meals included: B,D

Day 3 Rack Railway to the Sanctuary of Núria

This morning we'll drive the short distance to the town of Ribes de Freser, where our journey to the sanctuary of Núria begins. This spiritual oasis is accessible only by train, so we'll step aboard the rack railway for our ascent up the mountain. Winding our way through this beautiful area, we'll take in spectacular views and get a real sense of the enormity of the valley. There will be time to admire the sanctuary, take a stroll and perhaps have a bite to eat, before we head back down the mountain and return to Camprodon.

Day 4 Puigcerda

Today we will transfer you from your hotel to Ripoll train station for a fantastic rail journey along the bottom of the valley into Puigcerda, passing quaint villages along the way. Discover the historic centre of this town, its shops, bars and cafes before joining our walk around the lake there. The journey back to your hotel will be by coach, to make the most of the incredible views, this time from higher up the valley. Meals included: B,D

Day 5 Besalu

We’re heading to the coast today, with a quick photo opportunity stop at Castellfollit de la Roca before moving onto Besalu where we will enjoy some free time for lunch and to discover this lovely medieval village. After this, and before arriving to our hotel in Roses, we’ll call in at the Mas Llunes winery for a delicious Wine & Olive Oil tasting. Meals included: B,D

Day 6 The Red Train

This morning you will head to charming Rivesaltes, climb aboard Le Train Rouge (Red Train) and travel to the small town of Axat in France. Admire panoramic views as you journey through the stunning scenery, past majestic peaks and plunging valleys. After the train ride, there will be some free time to have lunch before heading back to Roses by coach. If time allows, on the way back to the hotel we’ll stop at La Jonquera, a large shopping mall on the border between France and Spain. Meals included: B,D

Day 7 Free Time

A day for you to relax and do as you please. Perhaps take a dip in the hotel’s swimming pool or soak up the sun on the nearby beach before our farewell get-together. A fitting end to our time in this beautiful part of the world. Meals included: B,D

Day 8 Barcelona - UK

After breakfast we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back to the UK.

Located in the heart of the village of Camprodon, with beautiful views on the river Ter and the Pont Nou (new bridge), Hotel Camprodon will give you the peace and quiet that you are looking for. The hotel has a garden, a bar and a restaurant. Bedroom facilities include: alarm service, telephone, TV and hairdryer.

Deposit information

When you book a holiday, you will be asked to pay a deposit, this will be made clear at the time of booking. In most cases we will charge the following deposit amount;

  • UK Holidays - £150 per person
  • European Holidays - £200 Per person
  • Worldwide Holidays - £250 or 10% whichever is the greater

On some holidays we may charge a slightly higher deposit, to cover any costs we have to pay immediately to secure your booking with our suppliers. This will be made clear at the time of booking.

If you choose a tour that is within 84 days of departure you will need to pay the full balance when you book.

Our cancellation policy

If you decide to cancel your confirmed booking you must notify us (or your travel agent) in writing, as soon as possible. Since we incur costs in cancelling your arrangements, you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum shown below.

  • More than 75 days before departure - Loss of deposit only
  • 43 - 74 days - 50% of tour price
  • 29 - 42 days - 75% of tour price
  • 15 - 28 days - 90% of tour price
  • Day of Departure - 14 days - 100% of tour price
