Itinerary

Day 1 UK - Windhoek

Today, make your own way to the airport or be collected by our Private Chauffeur (if you've pre-booked) for your flight to Windhoek via Johannesburg today.

Day 2 Windhoek

Windhoek is a surprisingly modern, cosmopolitan city where German-style buildings tell stories of Namibia's early colonial history. This evening, we'll get to know each other better over dinner.

Meals included: D

Day 3 Windhoek - Sossusvlei

The Sossusvlei area sits in the heart of Namibia. As we head here today, we'll see incredible scenery including towering red dunes and parched landscapes. Our desert lodge for the next two nights has views over the Nakluft Mountains, and is perfectly positioned to witness the amazing sunsets and the night sky.

Meals included: B,D

Day 4 Sossusvlei

Today we discover more of the unique landscape of Sossusvlei in the company of a tour guide. We will rise early to enjoy a scenic drive into the heart of Sossusvlei. Here, we'll admire the deep red tones of this dramatic landscape that has been shaped by the elements over millions of years. As the sun rises above the soaring dunes, admire the views as we eat our breakfast in these wonderful surroundings. We will get chance to climb some of the highest sand dunes on earth, a real once-in-a lifetime experience.

Sesriem Canyon was formed two million years ago by the Tsauchab River and plunges deep into the parched earth. We'll take in this memorable sight before returning to the lodge, where the afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps gather with some of your fellow travellers, relax by the pool and enjoy the spectacular desert views.

Meals included: B,D

Day 5 Sossusvlei - Moon Landscape & Swakopmund

The coastal area of Namibia awaits our discovery today. We drive via the Kuiseb and Gaub mountain passes to the coast, where we'll stay for the next two nights. The Moon Landscape is a fascinating area where the eroded remains of a mountain range create an incredible sight. Explore this unique landscape, a hit with the film industry, and see one of the world's biggest Welwitschia Mirabilis plants.
We will stay for two nights at Swakopmund, located at the beginning of the Skeleton Coast. For dinner tonight enjoy warm hospitality and fresh seafood as you dine in this unique setting overlooking the ocean from aboard an original oil-fired Danie Hugo Tug boat, constructed in the ship yards of Port Glasgow Scotland.

Meals included: B,D

Day 6 Swakopmund - at Leisure

Today is free for you to spend relaxing. Alternatively, why not join our optional dolphin and seal catamaran cruise from the nearby town of Walvis Bay – sure to be a truly memorable experience. You will also have the chance to join a Living Desert Tour, a unique 4x4 adventure drive through the nearby dunes to introduce you to the flora and fauna that survives in this inhospitable landscape.

Meals included: B,D

Day 7 Damaraland

Heading north along the coastline of the Skeleton Coast this morning, we call at Henties Bay, a popular Holiday resort for the locals, before moving inland towards Damaraland, a seemingly lifeless part of the country, but home to the desert adapted rhino and elephant. Prehistoric water courses with open plains and grassland, massive granite hills and deep gorges make up what is without doubt one of Namibia’s most scenic areas. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your lodge.

This evening we'll gather for a meal made using fresh ingredients from the lodge's gardens.

Meals included: B,D

Day 8 Damaraland

The Twyfelfontein area is rich in fascinating geology and culture. Today we call at one of the largest collections of ancient rock paintings and engravings in Africa. The formation and colour of the nearby Burnt Mountain is a phenomenon that has caused much speculation, and the Organ Pipes, a mass of basalt slabs in a ravine gouged out by a river, is another geological curiosity in the area. Later you have the option to visit the Damara Living Museum, where you'll learn about some of Namibia's oldest inhabitants. Discover a Damara village, watch traditional performances and perhaps even buy hand-crafted jewellery during your visit.

Meals included: B,D

Day 9 Damaraland - Etosha National Park

This morning we will visit the petrified forest, a collection of fossilised trees that exist within an old river channel, en route to Etosha National Park, a vast game reserve which hosts an incredible array of mammals, reptiles and birds. Here, we experience our first game drive this afternoon in open 4x4 safari vehicles so you will have great views of the wildlife that inhabits the park, including endangered species such as black rhinos. This evening at the lodge, we'll enjoy a drink on the deck before gathering for dinner.

Meals included: B,D

Day 10 Etosha National Park

This morning we'll head to the eastern border of the Etosha National Park in our touring vehicle, where our next lodge is situated. On the way, there will be even more opportunities to watch the animals as they gather around the waterholes and roam freely around the park – incredible sights that you'll surely never forget. Once we have arrived, the rest of the day is free for you to relax. Enjoy dinner at the lodge this evening.

Meals included: B,D

Day 11 Etosha National Park

Today we'll board our 4x4 safari vehicles once more for a full-day game drive in the park, with plenty of chances to tick more fascinating wildlife off the list. We'll return to the lodge for dinner together this evening.

Meals included: B,D

Day 12 Etosha National Park - Windhoek

Today we make our way towards Windhoek, stopping at a crocodile farm and Okahandja, home of the Herero people of Namibia. Our final hotel is an old country estate outside of the city where we will enjoy a farewell dinner. Enjoy delicious, authentic food and heartfelt hospitality as you share stories of your adventures, all with an ice-cold Namibian beer in hand.

Meals included: B,D

Day 13 Windhoek - UK

Today we'll transfer you to the airport for your return flight to the UK via Johannesburg.

Meals included: B

Day 14 Arrive in the UK

You'll arrive back in the UK today. Upon arrival, either make your own way home or your Just You Private Chauffeur Service will be waiting for the journey home (if you've pre-booked).

Dolphin and Seal Catamaran Cruise

Dolphin and Seal Catamaran Cruise

Depart Walvis Bay Yacht Club and head out into the beautiful bay area, which holds more splendour than can at first be seen – a shipwreck, lighthouse, oyster platforms, different bird species, seals and an abundance of marine life. In the bay area, the catamaran will move alongside the oyster platforms and your guide will share more information with you about locally cultivated Walvis Bay oysters – a tasting is included. Proceed to the Pelican Point to achieve a closer look at the lighthouse. It is here that you will hopefully see three different types of dolphins, namely the heaviside dolphins – endemic to the Namibian coast, dusky dolphins and Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. In season (July-November), the larger mammals like the southern right whale and the humpback whales may be spotted and with a bit of extra luck, the mighty killer whales (orcas) might make an appearance. All this can be experienced while comfortably relaxing in the saloon or on the deck whilst enjoying a glass of sparkling wine and delicious snacks.

Please note: Occasionally this tour may be operated by a slightly smaller vessel.
