Day 3 Santiago

The city of Santiago lies in a lovely setting beneath the majestic Andes and is a city of wide boulevards and delightful parks and gardens. This morning we’ve included a city tour, allowing you to see the Presidential Palace and the residential districts of Las Condes and Providencia, famous for their beautiful homes. You’ll finish on San Cristobal Hill, where you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of the foothills of the snow-capped Andes.

There is then free time for you to find a little place for lunch and this afternoon has been left free for you to make your own discoveries. Alternatively, why not join an optional excursion to Concha y Toro Vineyard.
We'll head to the Maipo Valley, a region in central Chile better known as the winemaking valley that features the Concha y Toro winery, the country’s most important exporter of wine. Concha y Toro welcomes visitors to share its secrets in the winemaking process and exporting activities. The tour includes a walk through the beautifully landscaped colonial grounds. The company was founded in 1883 and today it’s considered one of the 10 most important in the world of its kind. We’ll visit the cellars, the vineyards (some of them started by its founder, don Melchor Concha y Toro) and end with a wine tasting experience at the wine bar before heading back to the hotel. Meals included: B

Day 4 Mendoza

Driving over the Andes offers views of Mount Aconcagua, which at 23,000ft is the highest peak in the Americas. On our journey we'll retrace the steps of Native Indians, Incas and the first Spanish settlers on our way to Mendoza, where today more than 60% of the country's wine is produced. The grapes from this region are used for white wines including chenin blanc and reds such as cabernet sauvignon.
