With Italy being one of our most popular solo tours at Just You, we are on a mission to add more experiences that are local, authentic, and most importantly, make a difference to you and the communities you find yourself exploring.
Delivered as part of our Just You Cares collection of projects, here we shine the spotlight on three attractions which celebrate environmental sustainability as well as preserving ancient traditions. Your visit also ensures we have a direct positive impact on these communities economically too - ensuring these businesses and the wider community can all benefit.
Based in the small medieval village of Montecarlo, wine and olive oil have been produced by the Rossi family at Fattoria Il Poggia since 1963, while the farmhouse itself dates back to the 18th century.
Your tour and Tuscan lunch experience will reveal some of the ancient traditions still alive here today, and you’ll learn more about the farm’s sustainability initiatives.
Visit on Day 2 of Highlights of Tuscany.
Farm La Sorgente is a family-run farm situated in the medieval village of Varzi. The farm yields its own organic produce which allows them to operate more sustainably, as part of their work to make travel matter.
As well as touring the farm, you’ll have the opportunity to meet the owner Donna Maria and discover how they make mozzarella and limoncello.
Visit this farm on Day Two of the Walking the Amalfi Coast adventure.
Castello Vicchiomaggio is renowned for producing exceptional wines, crafted with passion and dedication to tradition by the Matta family.
The estate spans 140 hectares, with 24 dedicated to vineyards cultivating Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties.
But equal to the Matta family's passion for fabulous wines, is their commitment to be environmentally sustainable throughout the whole process from vine to wine. Your visit here will enable you to see how their processes have a more positive impact on the environment.
You can visit here on Day 2 of our Walking in Tuscany break.
