Insect repellent
If you are travelling to a region where mosquitoes are present, we strongly recommend you are adequately prepared before your holiday. While the risk of you becoming infected by a mosquito is extremely small, we would not want your holiday spoiled by bites or an illness that could easily be prevented by simple precautionary measures.
We advise, subject to consultation with your doctor, that you purchase high-performance mosquito repellent and apply this regularly during your holiday, including at bedtime. We would also suggest that you take with you a plug-in mosquito repellent device for your hotel room as an extra measure. These, along with DEET-based repellents, are available from most pharmacies.
It's a good idea to keep your arms and legs covered and you can also spray clothing with DEET-based products but they are less effective on clothing than on skin.

Luggage on train journey
During your train journeys your luggage will be transferred by coach on a previous night. Therefore, we strongly advise that you keep essential items, such as a small amount of clothing, toiletries and any necessary medication, in your hand luggage for this part of the journey.
Passport photocopy
When you travel to India, please take a photocopy of your passport details page and Indian visa. These will be needed when you check in at hotels and is a requirement of the FRRO (Foreigner Regional Registration Offices).
Game Drives - Camera
The Government of Rajasthan’s Forest Department of Ranthambore has introduced new regulations regarding the use of mobile phones within Ranthambore National Park.
From 1 February 2026, visitors will no longer be permitted to carry mobile phones into the national park during safari drives. This measure has been introduced to help reduce noise pollution and minimise disturbance to wildlife, supporting conservation efforts within the park.
Please note that the safari driver and naturalist will be permitted to carry a mobile phone strictly for emergency use only.
Photo and video cameras remain permitted during safaris, allowing guests to continue capturing their experience.
We advise to leave your mobile phone in your hotel room; alternatively mobile phones will be collected by the guide before the safari begins and kept in designated boxes in a safe space. Your Holiday Director will explain all of this in detail during your welcome briefing.
We kindly ask all visitors to comply with these regulations, which have been implemented by the local authorities and apply to all safari guests.
Game Drives - Clothing
Please note on this tour, as well as your usual packing, there are some key items to bring with you to ensure you can make the most of your holiday. It is important to avoid brightly coloured clothes on safaris.
