Holiday Director Insight - Australia

Just You Holiday Director Sarah can’t get enough of Australia, why not join her on a trip of a lifetime Down Under.

Australia is such a special country, with such diverse flora and fauna. You’ll see iconic creatures such as the koala and kangaroo and so much colourful birdlife. Then there’s the changing landscapes, from the sandy yellow hues of Western Australia and the rusty reds of the central Australian desert to the lush greens of the rainforests of the tropical north. It’s all truly amazing.

My favourite moments

There are so many wonderful moments on a tour here. My favourites include watching kangaroo grazing in the early morning, the view of Sydney Harbour and snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, and with any luck, swimming alongside a turtle. Watching the little penguins waddling up the beach to their dunes on Philip Island, is also absolutely delightful.

Step back and take it all in

My favourite city has to be Sydney, what a beautiful sight as you come into land, and it doesn’t disappoint as you wander around. Just find a high viewpoint and take it all in. Something I always tell my guests is to take a moment to themselves from time to time on the tour to step back and just enjoy. Your special moment could be something iconic or it could be watching a butterfly landing on a flower in front of you, or looking at the clear night sky and seeing the Milky Way.

You’ve probably dreamed about visiting Australia for many years, so it’s important to make the most of it!

My Top Tips for Australia

  • A must eat: Fish and chips! Seriously, but here it’s freshly caught and served with a stunning sea view!
  • Packing tips: Take sun cream and mosquito repellent. Don’t take travel kettles and hairdryers, all hotels provide these.
  • Wow moments: Native birds and their calls, Uluru, Sydney Harbour, the Bridge and Opera House, and cuddling a koala!
