Your itinerary

Today you'll journey to Calais on the Eurostar and on arrival, we'll transfer you to your ship. After time to settle into your cabin, meet your travelling companions and the crew over a welcome drink. This evening we'll sit down for dinner as the ship sets sail.

This morning we will set off on an optional walking tour of Honfleur. Located at the mouth of the River Seine, this small port retains many landmarks from its rich past and is one of the most visited towns in France. We'll begin our tour at the old harbour, the Vieux Bassin, where the tall, narrow houses squeezed against one another are a unique and charming sight. We'll also see St Catherine's Church, the largest wooden church in France, the 17th century Salt Halls, Greniers à Sel, which are now used for exhibitions, conferences and concerts, and St Léonard Church. This beautiful place of worship was destroyed during the Hundred Years War and rebuilt in the early 16th century. We'll return to the ship on foot.
This afternoon join our optional excursion to the Côte Fleurie – the coast of flowers. You'll visit the elegant city of Deauville, where you can take a leisurely stroll along the famous beach boardwalk, built so that ladies could enjoy the seaside without spoiling their dresses. You'll then move on to beautiful Breuil Castle, one of the finest examples of the architectural heritage of the region. Today, Breuil Castle is home to a prestigious distillery, and you will step inside to discover how Calvados brandy is made before enjoying a tasting. Afterwards, you will return to the ship in Honfleur.

After arriving in Duclair, you can set off by coach on an optional excursion to discover the Abbey Trail, a series of majestic abbeys along the River Seine. You'll visit Jumièges Abbey, which was described by Victor Hugo as the 'most beautiful ruins in France'. During your time here, you'll discover the cloisters and also see the ruins of the Church of Saint Peter. Another highlight of your tour is the wonderful architecture of the Abbey of Saint Wandrille, which you will admire from the outside. Later, you will cruise to Rouen .
The historic centre of the Rouen and its famous cathedral are only a five-minute walk from where the ship docks, so we'll set off to explore on foot on today's optional excursion. Highlights of our tour include the imposing Notre-Dame Cathedral, with its spectacular Gothic façade, the market place where Joan of Arc was burned alive and the Gros-Horloge, a beautifully decorated clock. We'll also visit the Saint Joan of Arc church before returning to the ship and setting sail towards Poissy. We'll cruise through a magnificent landscape of steep cliffs and charming villages and enjoy a gala dinner on board this evening.

You have an opportunity to discover either the Palace or Gardens of Versailles on today's optional excursions. The UNESCO-listed palace was a royal residence until the start of the French Revolution in 1789. Built by Louis XIII in 1624, it was enlarged by his son, Louis XIV and is one of the finest examples of 17th century French architecture.
If you have chosen the Explorer Package, you will enjoy a guided tour of the palace. Highlights include the King's Apartments and the glittering Hall of Mirrors, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed in 1919. In this vast room, 357 mirrors adorn 17 arches and reflect light from 17 windows. You will also visit the Queen's Apartments, and after your tour there will be time to discover the palace's fabulous formal gardens at leisure.
Alternatively, if you have booked the Discovery Package, you will explore the Gardens of Versailles by bicycle. You'll cycle along the canal and see some of the most beautiful parts of the park, including the Queen's Hamlet and the Petit and Grand Trianons.
Back on board, we'll cruise past the impressive concrete and glass buildings of La Défense, Paris' business district, before arriving in the city this evening.

Your optional excursion today takes you into Paris. Those who have chosen the Explorer Package will enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour, taking in iconic landmarks including the Louvre, the Champs Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe and of course the famous Eiffel Tower. Alternatively, the Discovery Package includes a stroll along the banks of the Seine and over the bridges of Paris.
Tonight, if water levels allow, the ship will cruise through Paris by night.

Enjoy one last breakfast on board before disembarking and transferring to the Gare Du Nord station for your journey back to the UK.
