Itinerary

Fly to Split in Croatia today. Get to know your travelling companions over a drink and a late dinner at your hotel this evening.
Zadar is a city with a history spanning more than 3,000 years. The modern and vibrant atmosphere of the town provides an interesting contrast to the intense history that surrounds it. Admire the fortified walls which were built by the Venetians to protect the city from Ottoman invaders. Our tour also takes us to see the remains of the Roman Forum and the church of St Donat – the focal point of the town.
Enjoy the clear waters of the Adriatic and take the chance to unwind in the bars along the coastline as you spend time in your resort, Petrcane, today.

Alternatively, why not join us on an optional full-day excursion to Krka National Park and the Bibich Winery. Krka National Park is a lush parkland which includes the breathtaking Skradinski Buk Falls. Many wildlife species and mammals make their home in the park including the endangered European otter so if you’re lucky you may see one of these endearing creatures.

After plenty of time to enjoy the park we continue our journey to the Bibich Winery.

Croatian wine has an excellent reputation yet it is rarely exported so you may not have tried it before. Take the opportunity to sample some today, along with a light lunch of local produce.
The Roman town of Split is home to the Diocletian’s Palace, a grand structure which resembles a large fortress. A guided tour of the city will ensure you miss none of its highlights.

The Makarska Riviera is a 60km stretch of coastline which boasts sparkling waters and long pebbly beaches. We arrive in our second resort of Tucepi, located in the heart of the area, later today.
Dubrovnik is widely referred to as the ‘pearl of the Adriatic’. It is an exceptionally handsome city with many layers of history.

Become acquainted with the city as we stroll through the well-preserved maze of narrow streets and hidden squares. We will visit the city walls, its impressive cathedral and the oldest pharmacy in Europe. You will also have plenty of time to explore further at your own pace and linger over lunch in a local restaurant if you wish.
Croatia’s coastline is also well known for its many picturesque islands. Today we include a boat trip to two of the largest, Hvar and Brac. Visit the popular town of Bol on the island of Brac, where the Golden Horn Beach juts out into the Adriatic, then take a stroll around Hvar’s old port town of Jelsa.

Back on board we will gain a wonderful perspective of the Riviera from the boat as we are served a delicious lunch with wine.
Tucepi is a delightful town with an inviting beach and a lovely centre that’s a treat to explore. Take time today to explore your surroundings, relax at your hotel or perhaps enjoy the pool or beach.

Alternatively, join us on an optional excursion to the beautiful city of Mostar, in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina, including a visit to a seashell museum.

This evening we will gather at the hotel to enjoy a farewell dinner.
Today we’ll transfer to the airport for our return flight to the UK.

Excursions

Experience even more of your destination by adding one or more optional excursions to your holiday before you set off. Right now is the perfect opportunity to do that – with everything booked and paid for you’ll have even more to get excited about and all you’ll need to think about while you’re away is having a great time.

By the way - look out for ‘Optional Excursion Packages’. For some holidays we’ve grouped a selection of excursions into a package which means you can make a saving when you book in advance.

Prices shown may vary according to departure date and are subject to change.  The full range of excursions will be detailed in your holiday information pack, sent approximately 15 weeks prior to departure.

Bosnia & Herzegovina is the land of sun and rocks; offering an unforgettable atmosphere to the landscape and it is pleasant to the eye and the soul. Day 6 - Islands of Hvar and Brac

HvarCroatia’s coastline is dotted with many magnificent islands, well known for their picturesque beauty. Croatia has more than 1000 islands; some lay untouched, while others are a hub for historic towns and culture. Some islands can be accessed from the mainland by bridges and other can be reached by boat. Today we will be visiting two of Croatia’s largest islands; Hvar and Brac.

Our day starts by taking the boat from the Makarska Riviera to the jet set island of Hvar. The longest and sunniest of the Croatian islands, this island includes 13th century walls, a hilltop fortress, beaches and inland lavender fields. We arrive mid-morning to the port of Jelsa. You’ll be hit with an array of colours from the verdant pine forests, white pebble beaches and turquoise waters. The landscape is also backed by vineyards and olive oil plantations. Not only does it boast stunning landscapes, the village is full of history, we will see some of its wonderful sites as we stroll around the old town. After an hour on the island of Hvar we will board the boat towards the island Brac.

Whilst on the boat sailing towards Brac, your taste buds are in for a treat as a wonderful lunch will be served, including a local meat or fish, fresh vegetables and salad with cheeses. After lunch we will arrive in Brac, which is the largest of the Dalmatian islands, located in the Adriatic it is known for its stunning pebble beaches. Today you will visit the popular town of Bol, where the Golden Horn Beach reaches out into the Adriatic, this wonderful beach constantly changes its shape depending on the wind and weather.
