Next we make our way to another quaint medieval town, that of Besalú, which we'll approach via a fortified bridge featuring a gateway at its mid-point. Amongst its maze of narrow streets we'll see the remains of a medieval synagogue and the town's restored Mikva. Also, we will see the Cathedral of Santa Tecla, built on Roman, Visigoth and Arab sites. Its rose window is made up of 12 beams, a work of art! From there, we will head towards the Roman circus and amphitheatre, both declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, here you can imagine what the chariot races and gladiator fights were like more than 2000 years ago!
