Kenya Money Question
Hi,
What is the best currency to take to Kenya. Shillings or U.S. Dollars? Also, are credit cards widely accepted and are there any hole in the wall machines near the hotel? Cheers, E. |

RE: Kenya Money Question
Hi E
You will need Kenyan Shillings for your trip. You will be able to use credit cards at the usual places and also hole in the wall machines, though I don't know if there is one next to the hotel. A good person to ask is another Community user called Nixon. She has offered a lot of good advice on Kenya recently. Kind regards, Olly, your editor |

RE: Kenya Money Question
I personally am not a great lover of hole in the walls in foreign countries, I am sure they work well for some people but not me. I am a cash sort of person on holiday. I say this for this Country as to be perfectley honest one does not walk around on your own flashing the cash. I hope you can understand what I am saying. Even to go to local supermarket a group of us ladies got together and shared the cost of a cab, from the hotel.
I certainley took Kenya Shillings, and a credit card just in case. Do tell your bank or the credit card company you are going to this country. When shopping at the local wood stores etc, they loved to get there hand on English currancy and US Dollars. I did buy some gifts in English money, of which they were very happy to get hold of. RE: Kenya Money Question
Hi Cindy
I hope this explains it for you. Feel free to practise - I can delete any attempts that don't work! 1. Choose your category (Ask your editor etc) and click on 'new thread'. Write your message (eg 'This is the hotel we stayed at in Turkey'). 2. Scroll down to the box at the bottom - 'attachments'. Click on browse and find the picture to upload from your computer. When you click on your picture (eg China.jpg) it will show up in the 'new attachment' box. 3. Click 'add attachment'. 4. To upload more than one picture, just keep repeating this process before posting your message when you are ready. Kind regards, Olly, your editor |
