It was not without some trepidation that I joined the long long queues at Gatwick the Saturday before Christmas, the fog having made life difficult for all travellers the weekend before Christmas. Having spent my first Christmas as a widow in N .Zealand visiting my son the previous year, this would be my first singles holiday. My hope was to meet like minded women out to make the most of where they found themselves in their lives, whatever deal their pasts had given them.
