Hi I have booked on this trip with the add on. Do I need to book and pay for the trips before i go. Also what currency of money do you recommend to take

You can pay for any excursions you wish to do once you are on your holiday, and you'll need to pay in cash. You'll get full details on what is available before you travel.
The currency to take is Kenyan Shillings.
