Discovery Weekends
I just wanted to say hello to everyone, I am new to this and was wondering if anyone will be or already has booked onto the up and coming discovery weekends?? I have never been abroad and unfortunately i'm not brave enough yet to book a holiday overseas, although at 41 its time too face a few demons, but I thought i'd start locally to begin with. I'd love to hear from anyone who has booked on one of these holidays or can give me some advice...

Kind Regards

Lisa

Hi Lisa

I have just come back from a discovery weekend that was held in Peterborough i was really nervous but once you are there you will be glad you made the effort. Everyone had a great time, everyone is in the same position and eager to make new friends. I met some really lovely people and I hope you do decide to book a holiday as you will not be dissapointed. I am also going to kenya in November hope this helps you feel more confident

Hi Lisa
Now you have been on a discovery weekend. I am sure you have been re assured by the Just You staff. I know travelling alone for the first time can be a little daunting. But I can assure you once you return. You will be saying to yourself, why you haven't done it sooner.
One thing to remember is. That whatever holiday you choose. There will be several people on the trip. In the same boat as yourself, Where they have never travelled alone, Or hadn't done for a very long time. My tip if you do not want to venture to far. Is perhaps try a short coach trip. "Just You" do several different types of trips of about 4 or 5 days. Or even longer if you feel ready for it. The UK has lovely places to visit, But Europe has also so much to offer and experience. And it is good to try out new cultures, foods etc.
I have been on 9 Just You holidays. 8 via coach, And have just returned from My first flying holiday. So if I can do it, So can you.
All the best Lisa and Good luck.
p.s Walking In The Ahr Valley, or the Austrian Lakes are 2 very good trips to start with.
Regards Andy

Hi Lisa,
Well what can I say? Don't be nervous - go and enjoy yourself!! I have been on some of the coach trips with Just You but also the holidays by air too. Christmas in particular is great fun. If you are worried - don't be. There is a wonderful world of adventure out there so go and enjoy it. Just You will make sure you are safe and well looked after. All you have to do is have a good time - easy. You will meet some great people and make some really good friends. What have you got to lose? Go for it and let me know how you get on.
Be happy, best wishes.
Lesley.
PS Looks like the Dolomites for me this Christmas!

Discovery Weekends
Hi to everyone - another 'potential newbie' here just signing in! This is my first peep into the idea of going on holiday alone - and it's definitely a bit scarey. But I've seen lots of really strong 'go for it' messages which have all seemed really positive - so that's very encouraging!

I'm thinking I might 'dip a toe in' by going on a discovery weekend - the Hampshire one - in August. I wondered if anyone else was thinking about doing that too? Yikes - I feel like now I've typed this in, I must definitely be moving towards the fact that I'm going to do this. Gulp. Feeling nervous already!! Joan Smile

I'm thinking about booking a weekend break in Hampshire in August. I've never done anything like this before, and am absolutely petrified.
I thought I might pluck up the courage to do something outside of my comfort zone. Is anyone else going?

Discovery Weekends
Hi everyone! I'm 28 years old and very new to Just You. I love to travel but am really nervous about going on holiday by myself, so Lisa I know how you feel. I am looking to book the discovery weekend in Nottingham in August before my first big holiday...just to see how things go. I have to say I am pleased to see that I'm not the only one who feels a bit nervous about it, but I'm looking forward to it too. I'm sure it will be fun!

Jemma x
