Hi Cindy

Any advice on currency and what is the best way. Did you do any trips when in the hotel and if so what were they like?

Thanks

Mary

Mary

I took Kenya Schillings (think thats what there called!!) which worked well for me. In some of the markets the LADS like you to pay in british sterling or USA dollars as I think they can get a good exchange rate. but just stick with the local currancy you will be fine. I did take my card but did'nt use it. I only came back home with about £15.00 in Kenya money and I did not have any problem changing the money back to sterling with my local bank where I got the money from.

In 2nd hotel I did only the half day tour to the town, TBH I did not think it was worth the money as it was boiling hot (I know thats not something to moan about!!!), and the beggars really did get to me, I found it all quite scary in my own way, so in the end I just sat on the coach/bus..my choice others got on and off in the heat etc no problem.

I do know some people did the dolphin??day it was very long day but they said it was worth it for what they saw and did. TBH I was very happy by the pool, and having a massage and manicure !!!

Really good holiday overall.

Cindy

Hi Mary,

I have also booked the Kenya trip on 28th Sept with the Coastal Extension so its nice to be hearing of other people booked on the trip. Getting excited but also nervous as i've never travelled on my own before. Had Yellow Fever jab - it was a doddle! Will apply for visa next, oh and I suppose pay for the holiday!!!

Keep in touch

Debs

DEB'S 1961

JY sorted out the visa when I went last year, had to send my passport to them and then they did a job lot and sent passport back to me.

You will all have a great time. I know I did.

RE: Magic of Kenya
Hi,

I will be on this trip as well, but not doing the costal extension, this will be my 3rd Just You holiday, would appreciate advice on injections etc, having read that where we are is not a yellow fever affected area, I also read on another post that our main case leaves us at the airport and goes to the hotel in mombasa and we just take an overnight type bag on the safari part?

Just getting all the stuff together, payment sent today, can't wait.

Regards,

Martin
