I am travelling tomorrow to Halkidiki and wondered how the holiday went for those who travelled on 16 May? Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi Pauline

Do have a fabulous time in Halkidiki, not sure which hotel you are staying in, but I am going there on Sept 25th at the Sithonia, so if you have any views or comments would be glad to hear about them on your return.

Hi Pauline, had a great holiday in Halkidiki May 16th,the excursion up Mount Holomondas is a must do. ENJOY`

Hi Sue

Thank you for your kind wishes; it was a good holiday, The hotel was the Porto Carras Grand Resort, Neo Marmaras, its the all inclusive in the Just You book; I think its the same as you are referring to? If so, it is a large resort very much geared to families and I think our group of 37 were the only Brits there, but having said that it wasn't a problem at all, there is plenty of space with umbrellas and sunbeds, the sea is gorgeous and the hotel and grounds spotlessly clean. You go through the sister hotel to reach a marina where you can catch a ferry for 2.5 Euros to Neo Marmaras, which we did several times; nice to pop over in the evening. This was my first time on a singles holiday and I would do it again. Have a great time in September.

Hi Pauline, thanks for your lovely comments. What I would mention is that this resort has four hotels, so you might not have stayed at the same hotel that I am staying in. Its the Sifonia, Thelassotherapy Hotel, there are 3 others in the same area of Porto Carras, this hotel I am going to also has a casino and a gy=m and spa. Anyway, lets hope that the weather stays fine late Sept,. Was it also over an hour to get from airport to hotel?

Hi there,
If you go back a few pages to the "Say hello to other users" forum you will see the comments that Shirley and myself put on for this holiday - in short, we had a really good, relaxing time at the sister hotel to the Sithonia. Yes the coach trip from the Airport to the resort is approx 1 and a half hours, but it's a really nice journey
