Just joined the site and trying to decide (or is it build up the courage) to book the Austria lakes. Wondered if anyones been recently?
Never been on holiday on my own before, so grateful for any suggestions.

I did the Austrian Lakes last year. It is a great trip and I am sure you will enjoy yourself if you do choose this.There is lots of things to see & do.
I love Austria - I have spent Xmas there as well as Spring, although obviously at different places. You will love Salzburg.
I hope you have a fabulous time. You are taking the first step - you will never look back - and I hope this is the first of many enjoyable holidays for you.
Your tour manager will take care of you - so you have nothing to be nervous about & they will make sure you do not feel 'left out'. The age of the group varies but that is good & you get to meet some really great people.

Hi Dove

I to have done the Austrian lakes tour about 18 month's ago, this is a nice tour, not to hectic, and the scenery is stunning. So go for it, well worth the money.

I did this holiday in 2009 and loved it. Austria is such a lovely country. The people are so friendly and helpful. There was a smashing lady in the village who makes schnapps and sells it at very reasonable prices.
Along with a few others, I opted out of one of the excursions and spent the day travelling around the lake by ferry and then on a local railway to a nearby small town. It's all so safe and good there.
I'm going on my fourth JY holiday this Summer. I strongly recommend them!

Hi, I'm booked to go on the austian lakes tour end june, hearing what everyone has said is very reassuring as never been on one of these holidays either.
