You will stay in the three star Hotel Alcadima, located in the traditional Andalucian town of Lanjaron. The hotel enjoys magnificent views and has a lounge, bar, restaurant, breakfast room, terrace and outdoor swimming pool. There is also a small fitness room, sauna, massage and spa bath (at extra cost). All bedrooms feature private facilities, TV, telephone, fridge, safety deposit box and hairdryer. There will be a traditional Spanish music night on one evening plus a Flamenco show and a barbecue on the final night.
DAY 1
Meet your travelling companions at the airport and depart on your scheduled flight to Malaga. On arrival transfer to your hotel in Lanjaron for a seven night stay. Welcome drink on arrival.
DAYS 2 TO 7
Free to relax and join our walks and excursions. We have left a day free for you to explore the town of Lanjaron. You can walk up to explore the ruined Moorish castle overlooking the town and relax in a bar along the Avenida de Andalucia. The following walks and excursions are included:
Poqueira Gorge & Villages walk
A walk through the mountain villages of Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira. We follow the path to the River Poqueira for breathtaking views across the gorge (distance: 7km/4.4 miles, approx. 3½ hours’ walk). Afternoon tasting of the delicious jamon de Trevelez.
Nerja & Salobreña
We visit the coastal resort of Nerja with its delightful old town in the shadow of the Sierra Almijara Mountains. We include entrance to the Nerja Caves, where ancient wall paintings and artefacts have been discovered. In the afternoon we continue to Salobreña.
Orgiva Market
Morning visit to the traditional weekly market. Soportujar to Cañar or to Lanjaron walk - We transfer by coach to Soportujar and enjoy a scenic walk through the picturesque scenery of the Alpujarras region (2 or 5 hours’ walk; 2 hours – Soportujar to Cañar, 6km/3¾ miles, grade 2. 5 hours – Soportujar to Lanjaron, 15km/9 miles, grade 3).
Granada & the Alhambra Palace
A full day excursion to explore the architectural treasures of Granada. We include a guided walking tour of the city and a visit to the world famous Alhambra Palace (entrance included). This Moorish citadel is an impressive reminder of Granada’s historic past and includes the Generalife, the summer palace with its fountains and gardens. At its heart stands the massive Renaissance Palace of Charles V, opposite the old Moorish casbah with its fascinating narrow streets and whitewashed houses with secluded inner gardens.
Lecrin Valley walk
Walk through the picturesque villages of Acequias, Murchas and Melegis, past lemon and orange groves (distance: 10km/6¼ miles, approx 4 hours’ walk). In the afternoon we visit a local bodega at Conchar to sample some of the area’s fine wines. On the final evening there will be a farewell barbecue.

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
