Your accommodation
Typical of the hotels you will stay in are the Pulitzer Hotel in Buenos Aires, Hotel Amerian at Iguacu Falls and the Hotel Rio Othon Palace in Rio de Janeiro. All rooms feature private facilities, TV, telephone, air-conditioning and mini-bar. Hotel facilities include restaurants, bars, and in Iguacu, swimming pool and gardens. Hotels will be confirmed in your final documents.
Your itinerary
Day 1: UK/Buenos Aires
Meet your travelling companions in the airport executive lounge before your scheduled flight to Buenos Aires via Paris.
Day 2: Buenos Aires
Arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s cosmopolitan capital and transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. This afternoon there will be an included city tour to introduce you to the best sights Buenos Aires has to offer. You will visit the Plaza de Mayo where the Casa Rosada (Government House) is situated, along with the Cathedral of Buenos Aires. From here continue to La Boca, renowned for its brightly painted houses and now an artists community. The dazzling dance, tango, is said to have originated here. We’ll also visit the Recoleta Cemetery, famous for its beautiful family tombs and as the burial place of Eva Peron.

Days 3 - 4: Buenos Aires
Situated on the estuary of the famous River Plate, Buenos Aires is considered to be the most elegant city in South America. Take time to explore at your own pace or join one of our optional excursions.

Tigre and the Parana river Delta
We travel through the elegant northern suburbs of Vicente Lopez Olivos where the Argentine President’s residence is located, then on to San Isidro with its neo-Gothic cathedral before arriving at Tigre. At the Tigre pier we board a typical riverboat to explore the maze of channels that make up the Parana Delta, passing riverside villas, English gardens and traditional rowing clubs.
Tango night at Esquina Carlos Gardel
This evening we get an unforgettable taste of the Argentine spirit, with a three course dinner with Argentine wine in this elegant Art Nouveau restaurant, followed by a spectacular tango show.
The Countryside of Santa Susana
Join this fascinating full day excursion to Santa Susana Ranch in Los Cardales in the heart of Argentina’s countryside. On arrival there will be a welcome drink and ‘empanadas’ (meat pastries) you are then free to explore the ranch and it’s traditional buildings, horses and carriages. We will then enjoy an Argentine Barbeque, during dessert there will be live folk music followed by a demonstration of traditional gaucho (cowboys) horsemanship skills.

Day 5: Buenos Aires/Iguaçu Falls
Today we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Iguaçu Falls. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel where you will stay for two nights. Relax this afternoon in the gardens and by the pool at your hotel.

Day 6: Iguaçu Falls
Today, we include a full-day tour to the Iguaçu National Park and to explore the Argentine side of the falls. It is a sight of stunning beauty and magnitude. Our visit takes us on the train that leads through the national park to the walkways that criss-cross both the top and the bottom of the falls, with plenty of opportunity to see and to experience the myriad falls up close.

Day 7: Iguaçu Falls/ Rio de Janeiro
Having explored the falls close up from Argentina, today we view the mesmerising Iguaçú Falls from the Brazilian side. Approaching from this side you will be rewarded with panoramic views which offer you the opportunity to better understand the immense scale of the falls. You’ll also be able to follow the walkways that take you almost into the centre of the Devil’s Throat.
This afternoon, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Rio de Janeiro. We stay in this exciting city for the next three nights.

Day 8: Rio de Janeiro
Rio is unique – bursting with energy, excitement and entertainment. It is beautifully situated beneath Sugar Loaf Mountain and blessed with magnificent beaches such as Copacabana and Ipanema. It has the world’s largest football stadium, pretty parks and the most legendary night life. With its exciting rhythms, bustling shops and fashionable bars, it is an informal and intriguing city.
Our three-quarter day tour of Rio starts with a drive along both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches en route to the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain, which we will ascend in the cable car for spectacular views across the city. Our tour then takes us through the city centre past the Opera House, and the National Theatre. We break for lunch in a local restaurant.

Day 9: Rio de Janeiro
Morning included tour to Corcovado and the Statue of Christ the Redeemer, climbing to the top aboard the small cog railway. The views from the top are simply incredible. This evening there is a farewell dinner.

Day 10: Rio de Janeiro/UK
There will be free time to buy a few last souvenirs and gifts in Rio de Janeiro this morning before transferring to the airport for our return flight to the UK.
