Hi! I just wanted to say to anyone thinking of going on a Just You holiday but still suffering from first-time nerves then they should go on a Discovery Weekend! It's a great way of easing in. I went along to the Hampshire Centre Court Hotel a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed myself...it really helped me see what it's all about before booking a full-blown holiday.
I had serious butterflies beforehand - I was really nervous about whether I'd fit in, what ages the other people would be etc, but it was fine! The tour manager, John, really looked after us right from the start. He was waiting for us all in reception when we first arrived, introduced us to each other at pre-dinner drinks and made sure we were all enjoying our weekend.
At 31, I was one of the younger ones there - ages ranged from early 20's to late 70's so a real variety which made it better than if we had all been the same age group i think. Everyone was so friendly and we all mingled, chatted and laughed regardless of how old we were!
It was such a nice break away. The hotel was 4 star and lovely, the food/wine was great and the excursion to Winchester was good fun.
I made some great friends whom I have kept in touch with and will be meeting again and I'm now brave enough to book my first Just You holiday to China. Always wanted to go but didn't want to go on my own. I'm so excited!
So anyone having doubts, try one of these weekends i guarantee you won't regret it.
