St. Lucian by Rex Resorts
You will stay at the lovely St. Lucian by Rex Resorts, wonderfully situated in the north of the island, directly on the beach on Rodney Bay, where you will be at leisure to make the most of the facilities. Relax in the lush green landscaped gardens, take a dip in one of the two swimming pools, lounge on the beach, or if you’re feeling active you can even play a game or two of tennis - perhaps challenge one of your fellow travellers to a match. Evenings at the hotel offer a Caribbean-style buffet at the Monarch restaurant, followed by authentic St. Lucian entertainment in the Admirals Lounge. Enjoy a cocktail or two whilst listening to the rhythms of a steel band or being astounded by the skills of limbo dancers.
DAY 1 UK/St. Lucia
DAYS 2 - 7
Relax in the beautiful resort and participate in our included excursions-
St. Lucia Sightseeing & Catamaran –
Travel by coach through the city of Castries to La Croix Maingot, an area used as a hideout during the war between the French and the British for ownership of the island. Continue through the quaint fishing villages of Anse-la-raye and Canaries, and Soufriere, a charming old West Indian town dating back to 1713. It is home to the world famous Pitons, which are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Soufriere visit the sulphur springs before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. Then, board a catamaran for a journey back along the west coast with complimentary refreshments. Perhaps take a dip during a stop at one of the coastline’s many coves before rejoining the coach at Marigot Bay.
Creole Kitchen Fiesta –
Join your experienced local guide as you visit an Amerindian hut to learn about the area’s history. We then take a walk through the lush forest where families grow aromatic herbs and spices to an authentic country Creole house. Here a chef will conduct an interactive cookery demonstration to teach you all about Creole cooking. After, we enjoy the fruits of our labour and sample a variety of fresh local produce, such as coconut, guava, mango and star fruit.
Other things to do and see -
Year-round whale and turtle watching
The Pitons – two incredible spikes of volcanic rock that burst out of the landscape half a mile into the air
Pigeon Island – The former military base, where the museum brings the history of the island to life
